04/25/2010 - College PREP - Cedar Hill, TX Michael is a thin-framed 2011 OF/RHP. He shows quality range in the outfield. He plays hops well and stays behind the baseball. He shows a slightly above average arm with accuracy. Improving his angles could make him more efficient. He has good all around arm action, footwork and hands. Offensively, he presents a quiet approach and load into his hitting position. He displayed good batspeed and barrel accuracy. His lower half approach is average. He has a tendency to overuse shoulders in swing, which cuts down on his ability to whip the barrel through the zone. He is short to the ball and stays on top of the baseball. His 7.2 speed should get even better as he is only a 2011 grad. As a pitcher, he sat 80-82 with good movement on his fastball. Curveball was average, but has potential. He has a good movement and feel for changeup. He showed presence and balance in delivery with a high 3/4 arm slot.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
