06/01/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Michael is a big and strong 2020 1B prospect. At 1B, Michael works off the ball well, he creates angles to the ball, and has good footwork when fielding. He has a clean backhand, plays through the ball, and makes accurate throws around the diamond. At the plate, Michael shows plus power to the pull side and looks to do damage on every swing. He loads his hands back into the launch position, creates backside drive, and hits off a firm front side. Michael's ability to make consistent hard contact will take his game to the next level. He has tremendous upside and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Michael is a tall, solid, and strong 1B who has a tremendous future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying tremendous hitting abilities with near pro level power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick, (96 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short/direct/level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered with power showing best to the pull side. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. Michael has a ton potential and is a sure player to follow.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
