10/03/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Michael is an athletic 2B/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind but needs to play through more, creating momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (6.94 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 2 years to further develop, Michael has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
