03/22/2009 - College PREP - Providence, RI Michael is a young two way player on the mound and at SS with a thin frame that shows projection as it continues to physically mature and fill out. Foot speed is near average and needs to get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness to stay in the middle of the infield at the next level. He utilizes his feet well through the fielding and throwing process maintaining body control. Feet are active and aggressive in coming to get and playing through ground balls. Glove action is soft, sure, and solid displaying solid average defensive abilities. Arm strength is near above average and will benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength and raise velocities. His throws display carry and accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities are average with near average power. He shows a line drive type path and flashes bat speed. He has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching full potential and will improve quickly with instruction and adjustments at the plate. On the mound, Delalio shows a smooth delivery with balance and control, allowing his arm action to work well away from his body. Changeup is his best off speed pitch showing running action. Arm speed slows down, tipping pitch off. Breaking ball is average displaying 10/4 shape, with average spin. Stock on the mound will rise as more arm strength is built. With 2 years to further develop, Michael has abilities with time and room to continue to improve.
