08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Michael is an athletic and talented 2019 OF prospect that works hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. In the OF, Michael is on time with his prep step and anticipates the ball off the bat. He's aggressive on ground balls and works behind fly balls well. At the plate, Michael starts in an open stance, loads his hands back, and has a direct bath path to the ball. He needs to continue to get his front foot down on time, create backside rotation, and keep his head down at contact. He plays hard in the OF by laying out for balls and runs the bases well. Michael will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Michael is a lean OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is excellent as indicated by his 60 time of 6.90. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads ball well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows plus barrel accuracy with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Michael has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
