03/11/2012 - College PREP - Hightstown, NJ Michael is a thick 3rd baseman with a big build. Defensively, Michael has sure hands, efficient footwork, and he takes a low approach to the ball. He takes good angles, plays in good rhythm, and he makes plays. Michael has a clean exchange and he throws with a long / quick arm with carry across the diamond. Lighter feet and more accurate throws will only help defensive grades get better. Offensively, Michael has a square / athletic set-up, a short / square stride, and good balance. He is a strong hitter with fast bat speed and he gets good extension through the ball. Staying on the ball longer and spraying to all fields can help solid numbers further spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
