06/14/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Michael continues to impress on the diamond. With the bat, this righty has fluid rhythm to load with good hand separation. He fires the barrel quickly and connects with pop - driving it to all parts of the ballpark (exit velocity = 90 mph). In the OF, he takes good angles, works behind and through the ball and gains ground toward his target. Transfer is smooth with accuracy and carry on his throws. Michael has a ton of upside and has tools that will translate well into a high level of play.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Michael's impressive pop was on display at his most recent Baseball Factory outing, hitting an astonishing 101 mph with his exit velo. At the plate, he was direct with the barrel to contact and rotated his core very well to generate good bat speed. He was consistently on-time to launch and got the bat in a good power slot. Defensively in the OF, he made plays with sure hands and was efficient with his footwork to catch and throw. He had a clean exchange and worked in-line to his targets with good body momentum. Overall - Michael is a good athlete that has the combination of speed and explosiveness to his game, running a 7.1 sixty, and hitting for power.

11/29/2015 - College PREP - Davie, FL Giordano stands at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds with a solid build. He featured a strong right-handed stroke that looks to be built for both hitting ability and raw power. He showed good rhythm to hit, with early pre-pitch action and the ability to get down on time. His move was coordinated from the start all the way through the finish, allowing him to take advantage of his physicality. His route to contact was direct, and he rotated through very well to extend the barrel through the hitting zone. His finish was high over his shoulder, but he was able to get on top of pitches up in the zone - offering evidence of advanced hand-eye coordination. He impacted the ball with more strength than pure bat speed, but was quick enough to the zone. Defensively, he was solid in the outfield and did a good job of getting behind his throws to hold them on line to the target. He fits better at first base, where he showed solid hands and good enough feet around the bag. He would benefit from extra infield reps and a plan to add quickness to his feet and actions, but appears more than capable of holding down first base. Overall, a naturally gifted offensive player with projectable hit and power tools.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
