11/25/2023 - National Showcase - Bay area, CA Michael continues to show improvements on the diamond with his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm to work clean/quick to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball showed a range of 73-79 mph. Slider displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/18/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Michael improved his foot speed at the event at he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.47 runner. In the OF, d he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-73 mph. Slider has tight spin with short break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Splitter has some sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Michael continues show improvements his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball shows a range of 68-72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 68 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sweeping action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Slider has tight spin but resembles breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Michael continued to show as a prospect at the Academic All-American tournament. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 62-64 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Michael continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 5. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 66 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

05/24/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Mooresville (Charlotte), NC Michael continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

08/11/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Michael is a RHP/SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. On the mound, Michael gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Michael shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph. Breaking ball sits from 53-56mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 51-54mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Michael makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
