06/05/2016 - College PREP - Bakersfield, CA Michael is a solid R/R 3B who has a strong arm. Defensively, he hustles around the GB into a proper/square fielding position. He makes the backhand play cleanly, gathers well and fires strong throws (88 mph) across the diamond. With the bat, this RHH has rhythm to load and gets good hand separation. He whips the barrel and connects with some strength - showing pop when centered. Working to engage more of his strong lower 1/2 throughout the swing will result in even more power. A 2018 grad - Michael has skills with still time to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
