08/09/2011 - College PREP - Bear (Wilmington), DE Michael is a young, thin, catcher who will graduate in 2014. Behind the plate, Michael has playable hands and feet, and he looks the ball into his glove. He catches in a low position, sticks the ball well, and his exchange is clean. Michael has a short arm action, and he throws with okay strength to his target. Catching skills can get better if Michael can widen his base, loosen his arm action, and add arm strength through long toss. At the plate, Michael has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and a short stride. He has good balance, a repeatable swing, and he tries to be direct to the ball. Michael swings in good rhythm and he has a line drive approach. Offensive tool grades can further spike if Michael can avoid lunging and add physical strength.
