03/15/2015 - College PREP - Lake Charles, LA Michael is a lean OF/RHP that will graduate in 2016 with a promising future on the diamond. Currently, he projects best in the OF for the next level. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.00 60 time. Defensive grade in the OF are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and moves well laterally, displaying range. Reads off bat are solid as he works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with life / carry as he displays well above average arm strength. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-76 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a plus feel for with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Michael has a ton of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
