12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Michael is a muscular OF/LHP who graduate in 2018. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He shows a solid feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact. Strike zone recognition is a plus and he battles displaying a solid two strike approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. At the event, he was 5 for 7. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls playing through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to work to get rid of the baseball quicker. On the mound, he shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 68-73 mph with sinking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. He shows good composure and competes on the bump. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, asks questions, and shows desire to be the best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Michael has potential with time and room to progress his game.
