12/27/2012 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament Michael worked out both in the INF and on the mound during his time in Pirate City. Defensively, Michael has athletic actions, soft hands, and active feet. He has a clean exchange, and delivers the ball with accuracy to his target while showing good range. He can work on using his legs more on his throws and being a little more fluid with his footwork. On the mound, Michael has a repeatable delivery, he hides the ball well, and he throws strikes. He can work on finishing his pitches better and more inline towards his target. At the plate, Michael showed an improvement since his initial workout with us. He has an aggressive swing, good barrel accuracy, and he gets the barrel through the zone well. He needs to be careful that his hands do not get ahead of his lower half. Overall he has an awesome make up and is a good competitor. He had one of the best at bats at the entire event, resulting in an opposite field hit to drive in a run after facing 12 pitches. He is very coachable and will make a great addition to a college program.
