11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Michael is a tall, strong two-way prospect who works hard and looks to get better during every drill. He can spot up on the mound, dotting his pitches to both sides of the plate and working ahead in counts. He is a quick worker with good tempo down the mound as he creates a downward angle to hitters. He features a fastball in the upper 60's with cutting action and an 11-5 curveball with good depth as he attacks hitters. At first, he is a reliable fielder, making all the plays you expect from a first baseman. He shows feel for the position, holding runners and working around the bag to receive throws. Speed and agility drills will improve footwork and range in the future. At the dish, he has a balanced, square setup and gets on time consistently with his front foot. He shows a level path through the zone and is able to make hard contact from gap to gap for base hits. Michael is a prospect we look forward to watching during his senior season.
