06/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Michael continues to show a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (91 mph velocity) on a line through his target. A RHH, he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (86 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power showing best to the pull side.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Michael is a hard-working and talented 2019 catching prospect. Behind the dish, Michael has an athletic primary and secondary stance. He presents a big target and works behind the ball. He leads with his glove and controls balls in the dirt with his chest. He has a clean exchange and creates momentum to his target with his lower half. At the plate, Michael loads his hands back into the drive position and has quick hands to the inside part of the ball. He attacks the ball with his lower half and stays balanced through contact. Michael will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/17/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Michael is a young OF (2019 grad) with a bright future. His stand-out tools currently are his arm strength and hitting ability. With the bat, Michael has a polished, mature approach. He has excellent strike zone judgement and is confident and relaxed in the box - as evidenced by a 1-1 day with 2 walks. His swing has rhythm with a subtle hand movement to get him into a good launch position. He is quiet and simple leading to consistent hard contact to all fields. There aren't many holes in this young prospect's swing. As a defender Michael fits well in the RF profile. He has plus arm strength with online carry and he tracks balls well. We look forward to seeing Michael's progression, as guys that can hit are always in demand.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
