He fields the ball cleanly and throws with a short arm action to his target. At the plate, Michael has a quiet head, a short stride, and good bat speed. He gets his hands into a good launch position and can work the ball gap to gap.
05/20/2012 - College PREP - Jupiter, FL
Michael is an athletic, average sized 2nd baseman who will graduate in 2013. Defensively, Michael has soft hands, active feet, and good pre-pitch actions. He fields in a low / athletic position, makes plays, and he moves well around the bag. Michael has a clean exchange, and he throws with a short arm action with accuracy across the diamond. Smoother footwork and fielding further out in front can help defensive grades get better. At the plate, Michael has a square set-up, a proper load, and a short / square stride. He has good balance, quick hands, and fast bat speed. Michael has a level swing plane and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Hitting can get better if Michael can avoid spinning off the ball and spray more to all fields.
