Foot speed is average as indicate by his 7.53 60 time as he will benefit by continuing to work to increase foot quickness. Feet are active / aggressive as attacks ground balls and plays through well, presenting soft / clean hands well out front. He moves well laterally to both sides displaying range but needs to work on getting rid of the baseball quicker. Throws are accurate with life and carry across the diamond. At the plate, Morelli continues to shine displaying solid average hitting and power grades trough an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a direct /level swing path. He shows a solid feel for the barrel with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-78 mph with life. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with loopy break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed pitches show potential as being quality tools as he continues to improve. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. With 2 years to further develop, Michael has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
