10/12/2022 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2026) Michael is a coachable C prospect who showcased his skills during the Fall Classic. Behind the dish, Michael sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through the 2B bag. He is efficient moving to block and centers dirt balls in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered in his lower half. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed and drives the ball from gap to gap. Overall, Michael is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/13/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Michael is an athletic C/OF in the 2026 class. Behind the plate, he presents a firm target with clean transfers. Shows a quick arm and fluid arm path and releases from his ear. Throws are accurate and on-line (2.38 pop). Moves his body well on dirt balls and is quick to recover. In the OF, he has a solid 1st step and tracks the baseball well. Displays advanced knowledge in regards to positioning his body behind the baseball and working through it. Working to speed up his arm will allow more carry on the baseball. At the plate, he begins in an athletic set-up. Shows power projection with an exit velo of 72 mph. Uses the middle of the field well and can turn on the inside pitch for pull side production. Overall, Michael has excellent starting points for great success on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
