07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Michael continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and communicates well. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he learns to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more aggressively. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/21/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Michael is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at theBaseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. In the OF, Michael shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Michael can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, Michael sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing to the ball which leads to consistent contact to all fields. Michael can improve as a hitter by driving his back side through more. Only a 2023 grad, Michael has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

04/23/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Michael is an OF who will graduate in 2023. Defensively in the OF, he takes a prep step and works around the GB. He takes aggressive cuts as he tracks down fly balls and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. With the stick, this righty displays an athletic setup. He drives his lower 1/2 through as he creates consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Get behind the ball
3. Play through the ball
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Develop rhythm
3. Improve bat speed/hands

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
