12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Michael is a 2022 1B who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory All-American Tournament. At 1B, he works to center the baseball and ability to make routine plays. Has a quick/clean exchange with a quick arm stroke. Made accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 76mph. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and square stance with smooth timing. Showed quick hands, with center balance at contact, and has a fast barrel through hitting zone. A short/direct barrel path enables him to hit balls hard into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. In live game action, he had a double and drew a base on balls. With another year of development, we foresee Michael having a bright future on the baseball field.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Michael is a 2022 1B. Large frame with broad shoulders and some present strength throughout. Primary 1B with a short, tight arm action and an over the top arm slot. Deliberate actions and is accurate across the diamond with currently developing arm strength. Right-handed hitter with athletic and even stance. Swings with intent and flashes bat speed when extended. Exit velo of 92. Path is level and on plane that has a lot of jump off the barrel. Has strength and can improve with additional usage of the lower half. Two years of continued growth and development should enable Michael to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
