07/30/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Michael is a lean OF/RHP that will graduate in 2017 but currently projects best in the OF where he has a lot of potential. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.02 60 time. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat. Range is a plus and he works to get behind fly balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with on line carry as he gets rid of the ball quickly, displaying well above average arm strength. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through a direct swing path, creating extension. He makes consistent contact as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-78 mph with sinking action. He maintains are speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and improves off speed stuff. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable. A 2017 grad- Michael has tools with time and room to improve and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
