Michael is a thick, solid 1st baseman with broad shoulders. Defensively, Michael has firm hands, playable feet, and good pre-pitch actions. He moves well around the bag, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy from a long arm action to his target. A softer glove, playing lower, and and fielding more out front will help defense improve. At the plate, Michael has a crouched setup, good balance, and fast bat speed. He makes square contact, he stays behind the ball, and he creates solid backspin. Improved timing and more lower body load can improve hitting.
