06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Miguel is a 2023 C/1B who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series in Omaha. Behind the dish, Miguel does a good job of replacing his feet and tries to work with good direction towards second base. Presents a good target and tracks pitches well with an easy sway. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 79mph and a best pop time of 2.6 seconds. Has a good spine angle on his blocks and tucks his chin. A long toss and J-band program, as well as a strength program, will help Miguel with his arm strength and athleticism. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance with loose hands. Showed good balance at contact point as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph during BP. He hits the low pitch well. In live game action, he reached base 4 times with a double, a single, and 2 base on balls. With another year growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.
