01/05/2020 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Miguel is a LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2026. On the mound, Miguel gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a free arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Miguel shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 50mph with tailing action. Changeup sits from 45-47mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the OF, Miguel shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws consistent to his target. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes solid contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Long toss
2. FB/CH velo differential
Outfield
1. Run to fly balls, no backpedal
2. Quicker exchange
Hitting
1. Smoother load
2. Maintain center balance

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
