06/01/2014 - College PREP - Medford (Boston), MA Mike is an athletic built OF that has consistent ability on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he gets to a good hitting position with his hands activated. He is direct with the barrel and quick to contact while maintaining good barrel accuracy. He was consistently on-time and hit with good leverage. Lower half drive and top hand extension through contact will increase hit ability and hard contact frequency. Defensively, he works with efficient feet - behind and through the ball, and is sure handed to field. He stays directional to throw with momentum and is athletic in all his actions. All in all - Mike is a 7.16 runner that uses his speed between the lines and projects well as an OF at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
