Official Scouting Report

  • RHP/SSPosition Projection

12/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Nyack (NYC), NY Miles is a young, 2-way player as a RHP/SS. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arms slot. He works to a controlled balance point, stays in-line toward the dish and repeats well. FB tops out at 55 mph while breaking ball has early action. At SS, Miles displays active footwork as he hustles into a square fielding position. He makes the backhand play smoothly, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Offensively, he displays a square/athletic stance with centered balance. He squares the ball up and looks to drive the middle of the field. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve his all-around skill-set on the diamond.

Pitching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Earlier separation
3. Finish with extension
Infield

2. Play through ball
3. Transfer/exchange

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
