03/06/2016 - College PREP - Hightstown, NJ Miles is a wiry MIF who will graduate in 2016 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 7.01. Defensive abilities are outstanding, displaying smooth / fluid actions. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life / carry / accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel, through a line drive approach. Miles has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
