05/01/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Miles is talented C/3B in the 2024 class. At 3rd, he has active feet and solid pre-pitch movement. Has good range and presents his glove well. Has a quick exchange and can use multiple arm slots on his feeds. Behind the plate, has an advanced set-up with quick feet. Proves to have agile movements and great pocket presentation. He can maintain the strike zone by sticking pitches and tracking well in front of his eyes. He has short arm action and a quick release (2.31 pop). At the plate, he creates hard contact with line drive production. He maintains his balance inside of his feet and hits off a firm front side. Working to shorten his stride will help his timing become more consistent as he begins to see advanced pitching. Overall, Miles has the opportunity to play at the next level with hard work and growth to his game.

09/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Miles is a C/3B prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build, with thick lower half, and strength present. At C, he showed an easy sit, with active feet, and athletic actions. Has a low fielding position who beats ball to spot and keeps pitches in the strike zone. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 75mph and a best pop time of 2.38 seconds. Creates good blocking angles and he blocks the 5-hole. Was quick to his feet on block and recover drill. At 3B, he has a good pre-pitch routine and keeps his feet active throughout fielding process. Fields from a low fielding position with hands out front. Made accurate/on-line throws, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 81mph. Holds line on slow rollers. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an upright and even stance. Starts with a small hand load and smooth timing as he rotates to contact point. Has a direct barrel path as he hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph during his round of BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Miles having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Miles is a hard working 2024 3B/C prospect who showed well during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, he starts in an athletic position, with quick/active feet, and creates good fielding angles. Fields from an athletic fielding position and fields the ball out front. 10/04/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Spokane, WA Miles continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body during the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.38 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Miles is a young, coachable, hardworking catcher with a solid skill set. Behind the plate, Miles has an athletic set-up, a presentable glove, and his hands are firm. He looks the ball into his glove, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a strong/accurate arm to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.4 seconds. Work on blocking and a quicker release will help catching skills get better. Offensively, Miles has a tall/athletic set-up, an activated load, and a square stride toward the pitcher. He swings on plane, his hands are quick, and he hits lines drives consistently. More extension and added strength will help spike hitting grades.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
