01/10/2016 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Mitch is a RHP who has a projectable frame. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) coming from a quick arm action. He has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 73-75 mph as he works the zone and throws strikes. Breaking ball shows to be best off-speed pitch with good depth and 11/5 shape. He has good command and works the ball in and out. Working to more of a balance point while driving off of the rubber more with his lower 1/2 will help to improve effectiveness on the mound. With the bat, this righty shows a patient approach as he waits for his pitch. He keeps his hands inside the ball and creates extension through contact. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path with increased bat speed will help to increase power at the plate. Only a 2019 grad - Mitch has upside with still a ton of time to develop.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
