05/08/2016 - College PREP - Lakewood (Denver), CO Mitch is a lanky, athletic LHP who will graduate in 2017. On the bump, this lefty throws a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and loose/free arm action. He works through a strong balance point and has smooth overall actions. FB ranges from 77-79 mph. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape with gradual break. Arm speed is maintained on changeup showing sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mitch has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
