06/07/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Mitchel is a tall 1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 1B, Mitchel shows efficient footwork and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front with soft hands and makes a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Mitchel improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and great pull side power. Mitchel can improve as a hitter by taking a more square stride toward the pitcher. Overall, Mitchel is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/20/2018 - College PREP - Gambrills, MD Mitchel is a tall, solid RHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. On the bump, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his loose, quick arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed range of 73-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves and he continues to increase foot quickness. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
