07/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Atchinson, KS Mitchel is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Mitchel shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half, producing strong contact to the opposite field. On the mound, Mitchel gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Mitchel operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 57-60mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 58-60mph. Overall, Mitchel is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/08/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Wichita, KS Mitchel is a young, thin, 2-way player who catches and plays SS. Behind the plate, Mitchel has quiet actions, good flexibility, and he fields in a low position. He presents his glove well, is quick to his feet, and throws with momentum toward his target from a short arm action. At SS, Mitchel has good pre-pitch actions, he moves athletically to the ball, and throws with consistency across the diamond. Offensively, Mitchel has a square set-up, a middle of the field approach, and good feel for the barrel. He swings in good rhythm and makes consistent contact. Mitchel can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
