01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Barrow continues to shine with his all-around solid skill-set. This strong LH swinger can makes things happen with the bat. Offensively, he stands in well with centered balance and rhythm in his hands. He whips the barrel through the zone with speed and creates consistent/hard contact as the ball explodes off of his barrel (exit velocity an impressive 99 mph). He will fit nicely into the clean-up type role in the batting order. At 3B, he moves lightly on the balls of his feet around the GB from right to left. He makes the backhand play with ease and has a quick exchange to throw. Mitchell has the tools that will translate well into the next level.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Barrow is a left handed hitting 3B with a great build and tremendous power potential. Mitchell's best attributes may be that he showed a hard-working approach at Pirate City and displayed the coachability that will allow for continued growth as a player. In the field, Barrow shows an accurate arm and should develop a more consistent, athletic pre-pitch routine and play through the ball with lower hips by bending deeper from the knees. He has a clean exchange and fires the ball accurately across the diamond. At the plate, Barrow's has a balanced setup with a solid base. He delivers the barrel with speed showing some pop when centered. Working on the timing of his separation while engaging more of his lower 1/2, will help get the most out of his stroke.

10/11/2015 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Mitchell is a broad shouldered, strong 3B graduating in 2016. Defensively, he knocks down every ball that's hit at him with plus range for his large figure. He stays low to field the ball out front and works through the ball with sure hands. He throws with accuracy and will see defensive stock rise as he picks up a long toss program. At the plate, this LHH covers the entire box with great awareness of the plate. He hits from a square stance with next level pull side pop. Sky is the limit with Mitchell as he enters his senior year looking to impress the eyes of many college coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
