09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Mitchell continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/12/2019 - National Tryout Plus - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Mitchell is an athletic and talented 2023 utility prospect. At the hot corner, Mitchell presents a low/early glove, he works from the ground up, and has efficient footwork to the ball. He makes the routine play and makes accurate throws. Behind the dish, Mitchell has an athletic primary stance, he presents a big target, and sees the ball into his glove. He's aggressive on balls in the dirt and tries to control the ball with his chest. When throwing, he creates momentum with his lower half, and keeps his throws on target with a low of a 2.20 pop time. At the plate, Mitchell starts in an athletic stance and keeps a quiet head. He has a partial backside rotation and stays balanced throughout the swing. He attacks the inside part of the ball and looks to drive the ball through the middle part of the field. Mitchell continues to improve with experience and we're excited to see his progress as he climbs toward the next level.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Mitchell continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying sure hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 4 years to further develop, Mitchell has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

12/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Thousand Oaks, CA Mitchell is a stocky, strong, 2-way player who plays 3B and catcher. In the INF, Mitchell has a good base, active feet, and he fields in a low/square position. He presents his glove well, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a 3/4 arm slot to his target. Behind the plate, Mitchell has fluid footwork, firm hands, and he blocks the ball aggressively. He has an easy transfer and a short arm stroke to 2nd base. At the plate, Mitchell has a square/crouched stance, a proper load, and he swings in good rhythm. He swings aggressively, makes square contact, and can spray to all fields. Overall abilities can get better if Mitchell can work on the following.

Infield
1.	Arm strength
2.	Pre-pitch actions
3.	Release
Catching
1.	Widen base
2.	Balance
3.	Blocking techniques
Offense
1.	Avoid lunging
2.	Barrel accuracy
3.	Upper body

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
