11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Mitchell is a (2023 grad) as a 1B/LHP. Defensively at 1B, he works around the GB and presents his hands. He makes the routine plays looks easy and fires the ball strongly to his target. On the mound, this lefty has a 3-pitch mix and keeps his eyes locked in. He delivers from a 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and has a controlled finish. With the stick, Mitchell shows a square setup with balance. He swings on a short/direct path through the zone and sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quick footwork
2. Stay low
3. Clean exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Strong frontside
2. Deliver more strikes
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Stay loose
3. Improve bat speed/hands

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
