12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Mitchell is a 5'10/210 lbs junior that competed well with the tough C/RHP combination at the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the dish, he showed some feel for receiving with strength in his wrists, and moved well laterally to block. He showed present arm strength with pops on-bag at 2.2 seconds. He handled the pitching staff well, getting them to work with some tempo and repeatability. Continued work on his flexibility and footwork will help boost play ability. Offensively, he showed strength at contact, and got extended out over the front side flashing plus pop. During cage rotations, he worked to implement more lower half drive and coordination with hips & hands. On the mound, he threw his FB from 76-82 consistently, and flashed 85 a couple of times, while also spinning a 10/4 SL with decent break from 71-73. Mitchell challenged hitters on the inner half, and threw a lot of strikes, commanding his pitches and taking control of the game. He divided the plate to keep hitters off balance and had good feel for pitching. In all - Mitchell is a promising junior prospect that should have a strong season this spring.
