01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Mitchell is a tall, strong 1B who has a tremendous future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, (92 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Throws are accurate with zip (83 mph velocity) to his target. Mitchell has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
