07/27/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Mitchell is an exciting prospect for the next level with above average tools across the board and elite athleticism and speed to take him over the top. He has excellent footwork at second and turns double plays at lightning speeds. He has a very strong arm and makes accurate throws all over the diamond. At the plate, the ball jumps off this kid's bat with his explosive bat speed. He drives the ball gap to gap and is a very dangerous hitter. Mitchell is a talented prospect who will be sure to make an immediate impact at the next level.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Mitchell showed very well at the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. Defensively, he showed some of his best ability to date, taking an aggressive approach to the baseball, and getting his body into a good position to field. His glove played sure and he made the routine plays with some life on his throws (84 mph raw velo). Offensively, he generated good bat whip through the zone with hand & hip coordination and flashed oppo gap pop. He had late explosion with his direct path and got good front side extension. All in all - Mitchell has good feel offensively and defensively, and has strong projection with his aptitude.

10/04/2015 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Mitchell is an athletic 2B that will graduate in 2017 with plus tools across the board and a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 7.00 60 time. Defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft / sure hands. He works around and plays through the ball well with his body. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic / squared setup and he tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, aggressive, and generate bat speed through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. With 2 years to further develop, Mitchell has the makings of a special type player that will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
