11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Mitchell is a lean, athletic two-way prospect who shows upside both as a pitcher and position player. He is polished on the mound already with poise and an aggressive style as he shows impressive command of his pitches. He features a fastball in the upper 60's with good sink and an 11-5 curveball from a low 3/4 arm slot that adds deception. He works quickly to keep hitters off balance and can put them away by dotting the corners of the zone. At short, he attacks the ball to field and shows extended range to make plays in the hole and up the middle. His hands are clean to field and exchange as he makes quick feeds and accurate throws to his target. At the plate, he has feel for the strike zone and an idea of where he wants the ball, tracking it to the bat. He barrels the ball consistently and sprays base hits to all fields. Centering his balance will allow him to transfer his weight and hit the ball with more authority moving forward. Mitchell is an intriguing prospect we look forward to watching more of.
