10/15/2014 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Mitchell is a gifted two-way player that has an electric arm. On the mound, he threw his fastball from 85-89, spun an 11/5 CB at 70-73 MPH, and mixed in a CH with arm side run at 75-77. Mechanically, he was sound, free with his arm action and repeatable with his delivery. He has a tendency to change his arm slots slightly, which can be beneficial at times, but can also tip his pitches. In the OF, he gets to a good fielding position and makes plays. He throws with carry and is situationally award. Offensively, he has an oppo approach and gets his hands activated in his launch. He flashed some pop and drives the balls to gaps. In all - Mitchell has very good projection on the bump at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
