06/22/2012 - California Select Training & Competition Williams continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. He utilizes his athletic feet well in attacking ground balls while presenting his clean hands well out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength and work on getting rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, Mitchell shows a balanced approach with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing. The baseball jumps off his bat when centered with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-77 mph with breaking ball displaying 10/4 shape with downward tilt. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. With only one year of high school ball under his belt right now, he has upside on the mound, and is a player to watch as he gets older.
