Official Scouting Report

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Monroe is an athletic and talented 2024 SS prospect that was eager to learn. At SS, Monroe is on time with his prep step, he starts his hands in front of his body, and works from the ground up. He works around the ball well and plays through his backhand. He needs to continue to improve his first step quickness and continue to develop his arm strength with a long toss program. At the plate, Monroe starts in a squared stance, he has a middle approach and is a line drive hitter. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and shorten his swing to improve his contact rate and in zone swing decisions. Monroe will continue to improve with experience and we hope to se his progress in the future.

09/08/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Fresno, CA Monroe is a lean, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Monroe has good footwork, he moves well to the ball, and makes plays. He works the double play nicely and throws with some accuracy to his target. In the OF, Monroe has efficient footwork, he takes solid angles, and he makes plays. At the plate, Monroe has a tall stance, a short stride, and he works the middle of the field. He has good strike zone awareness and can hit the ball the other way. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Infield
1. Pre-pitch
2. Fielding position
3. Footwork
Outfield
1. Routes
2. Arm strength
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Rhythm
3. Barrel accuracy

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
