05/15/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Morgan continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.20 runner. In the MIF, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and present well out front. He moves well laterally, displaying range. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program A very solid all-around baseball player. He is fundamentally sound across the board with his bat, his feet on defense, his hands and ability to throw. He has a short compact RH stroke with balance in his lower half and a feel to find the barrel consistently. More of a line-to-line contact stroke with top of the order potential or bottom of the order depth, but will contribute offensively. Defensively, he has good foot work with soft hands understanding body positioning and glove angles to be a sure average middle of the diamond fielder. There is room to develop physically with strength and athleticism which makes him really intriguing as a recruit because the baseball skills are all there. As his athleticism continue to improve, he shows the potential to be an above average middle of the diamond defender. His hands are soft and he transfers consistently to allow him to throw from multiple arm angles and footwork patterns with accuracy. The arm strength is average currently and continues to increase as he is gaining strength. Overall, Morgan is solid baseball player who as he matures and adds more strength, and his athleticism is ticking up will be a contributor in the middle of the diamond defensively with offensive impact and on base skills at the plate. He is a hard worker with great make up who is focused on maintaining his current strengths as a baseball player but putting in the work to develop his athleticism and strength.

12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Morgan is an athletic SS/RHP in the 2023 class. In the field, he demonstrates smooth footwork with a quick 1st step. He plays low to the ground with strong glove presentation. His transfers are quick and clean with a loose 3/4 arm action (75 velo). He works well through the baseball for accurate feeds to his targets. On the mound, he displays a 3 pitch mix with a lot of activity around the zone. His fastball sits 72 with cutting actions. His CB toped at 77 with 11/5 shape and his change hovered around 68 with great fastball arm deception. At the plate, He begins with a smooth athletic set up. He has a proper load phase and has the ability to spray the ball where it is pitched. A more squared stride will allow him to engage his lower half in his swing to increase his power. Overall, Morgan is a solid two way prospect.

08/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Morgan is a skilled, R/R 2-way prospect (SS/RHP) who has a solid all-around skill-set. With the bat, this righty steps into the box with an aggressive approach and is looking to swing it. Hands are quick generating + bat speed through a level path. He connects and drives the ball on a line. At SS, he displays active prep and works lightly on the balls of his feet. He works around and through the ball with a quick/clean transfer to throw. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix (FB, SL, CH) coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. Arm works quickly as he repeats well. He throws strikes with all of his pitches. FB ranges from 67-70 while SL has 11/5 shape with tight spin. Changeup shows to be his best pitch as it has good sinking action and compliments his FB well. This 2023 grad has tools with upside as he's approaching his junior season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
