10/11/2017 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Morgan continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball shows plus arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a plus feel for pitch with good sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He maintains good composure and competes on the bump. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable as he works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Morgan is a two-way prospect who continues to grow and develop. On the mound, he throws from an over the top arm slot with a fastball, curveball, and changeup. He shows good command for his fastball as it shows good arm side run. Breaking ball is thrown for strikes with good depth. He showed a great feel for his changeup, using good arm speed and keeping it down in the zone. At the plate, Morgan has a smooth stroke with quick hands and a consistent load. He showed the ability to hit balls on the nose a lot and was able to get the barrel out in front and drive pitches. Morgan is a solid prospect both on the mound and at the plate.

03/05/2017 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Morgan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the mound. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point. 01/08/2017 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Morgan is a hardworking LHP/1B prospect who has a projectable frame and graduates in 2018. On the mound, Morgan pitches downhill with a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. He extends through his release and he has the proper stride length with a controlled landed and good core rotation. Morgan has great command of his fastball with good arm side run. He also features a late breaking curveball and deceptive changeup with good sink. As a left-handed hitter, Morgan has a square setup with an on-time stride as his lower half leads his swing. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
