11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Myles is a team oriented and hard working 2nd baseman who will graduate in 2019. In the infield, he showed a good pre-pitch setup and active feet which allowed him to work around ground balls and flash some range to his glove hand side. Arm was accurate and works well for the position. Trying to field ground balls with lower hips, will help him get his hands more out in front to field, which will allow him to get the hops that he wants more often. Offensively, he showed impressive contact skills, as he kept a firm front side and used his legs/hips to generate torque. Balance was also a plus, as he remained athletic from start to finish during his swing. Still a young prospect with room to grow, Myles will have a very bright future in this game with continued hard work on both sides of the ball.

08/21/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Burlington, VT Myles is a compact athlete who is a 2019 prospect at second base. He hustles everywhere on the field and busts it out of the box to put pressure on infielders to make plays. He has a simple approach at the plate with a short path to the ball, making consistent contact. He keeps his hands inside the ball well and gets his lower half through to be able to hit the ball where it's pitched. At second, this prospect shows the ability to make all of the plays with good footwork on slow rollers and smooth actions to his backhand. He makes quick DP turns with a clean exchange and release, the hallmarks of a good middle infielder. Getting low and fielding out front are the final steps to becoming a complete infielder. We look forward to watching Myles continue to progress.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Myles is a lean 2B/SS that will graduate in 2019 and plays with a lot of energy. At 2B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more, play through while presenting hands / glove more out front and increases foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He shows good strike zone awareness through a confident approach. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he shortens swing path and works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 4 years to further develop, Myles has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
