10/24/2018 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Nate is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the SoCal Classic. In the field, Nate shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into a square position an fields with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets into his load well. He drive his lower half through and produces solid contact. On the mound, Nate gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and keeps his pitches around the zone. Nate shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-68mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 68-70mph with good arm side run. Overall, Nate is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

08/12/2018 - College PREP - Gillette, WY Nate is a tall and lean 2019 2-way prospect. At the hot corner, Nate is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He has a clean exchange and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Nate starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He hits off a firm front side, keeps a quiet head, and drives the ball gap to gap. On the bump, Nate gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and works downhill. His fastball has 2-seam run, his slider has a tight break, and his changeup has glove side run. Nate will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
