09/25/2024 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2025) Nate is an athletic catcher in the 2025 graduating class from Colorado Springs, Colorado, who showcased his impressive abilities at the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. He maintains a relaxed primary stance, demonstrating strong hands that track the ball to his mitt while gaining ground to his target. With an arm velocity reaching up to 93 mph and a best pop time of 1.83 seconds, he shows excellent throwing capabilities. His blocking technique features good angles and a solid spine position, leading with his glove. At the plate, he hits from an open stance with good rhythm, consistently making hard line drives to the pull side. With a D1 level arm, he will benefit from improving his lower half strength. During the tournament, he reached base five times, recording four singles and a walk, along with two RBIs and two stolen bases. With a strong weight training program, he should have solid opportunities to play at the collegiate level.

06/21/2024 - College World Series Experience - Session 2 Nate might have been the most talented player at the BF Omaha Experience. Scouts raved about his abilities and intangibles. Standing 5 ft 11/155, he proved to be a special catcher. Arm plays at 93 velo and action is quick. Showed the ability to shut down the running game with his accuracy and 1.94 pop. Receives the ball well and can control the ball in the dirt. Can over frames at times and scouts feel with maturity, he will learn to keep his body behind the baseball. At the plate, he generates hard contact with excellent extension. Has the potential for major power once he learns how to incorporate his lower half. Runs well for a catcher (7.03 speed) and is aggressive on the bases (4 SB in game action. Had a great week in the box with 3 hits (1 3B) and a RBI. Scouts feel with a solid weight training program, the sky is the limit for Nate.

02/19/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Parker , CO Nate is a 2025 C prospect with an athletic frame that really impressed at the National Showcase in Parker. Behind the dish, he shows off all the tools you'd want in a catcher. His feet are quick and he does a great job of getting in an athletic setup with his hands out in front when receiving. He does a nice job of sticking pitches and getting good extension. He has a quick exchange and he makes accurate throws to his targets. He shows off a plus arm as he recorded a raw velo of 88 MPH. He impresses on balls in the dirt, doing a nice job of getting a good down angle with his chest and keeping his glove down in between his legs. At the plate, he starts in an open stance and has a short stride with a good load. He has a firm frontside with his lower half and does a great job of keeping his balance centered through contact. He gets good hip rotation through the baseball and he works hard to stay short to the ball. He makes hard, consistent contact and shows the ability to hit for power to the pull side. He recorded an impressive exit velo of 86 MPH. Nathan is an exciting prospect that should have the opportunity to play at the next level!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
