08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Nate is an athletic and tall 2020 2-way prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At SS, Nate is on time with his prep step, has a quick exchange, and makes accurate throws. He needs to presents a low/early glove, and anticipate the ball off the bat. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Nate start in a tall and open stance. He loads his hands back, keeps the barrel on plane, and keeps his head down at contact. He needs to continue load knee to knee in his lower half and stay back on the ball. Attack the inside part of the ball will allow him to have good direction. On the bump, Nate gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. His fastball occasionally cuts and his breaking ball has an 11-5 break. He needs to continue have better tempo on the mound, work north to south, and repeat his delivery. Nate will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
