06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Nate continues shine on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and play through with is body he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Fastball shows a range of 80-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Nate is a 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Nate shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with center balance. He shows fluid rhythm and stays direct through the ball, producing strong contact to all fields. On the mound, Nate gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Nate shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 62-65mph with 12-6 break. Overall, Nate is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/19/2020 - Winter Pro Training Experience - Nor Cal (HS - Dec) Nate is a solid and hardworking 3B/RHP prospect in the 2022 class. At 3B, he takes aggressive angles to the ball and works through it smoothly with the ability to finish plays. He has a clean arm action with the ability to throw from multiple angles, showing strong throws at the event (77 mph). He also shows well on the mound with good poise and confidence. FB ranged 76-78 with tail, CB had 11-5 shape, and CH had run with deceptive arm speed. He is aggressive as he goes after hitters and pitches ahead in the count. Overall, Nate is a solid prospect who can make an impact in a variety of ways.

09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Nate is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Nate gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a soft stride. He is fluid getting into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact to all fields. On the mound, Nate gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Nate shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 61-62mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 67mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Nate is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/06/2020 - All-In Membership - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Nate continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line zip (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date 78. He shows a three pitch. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength.

09/25/2019 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Nate continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 times to date. At 3B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine, improving hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound. Fastball showed a range of 68-74 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/01/2019 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Nate is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. At the hot corner, Nate is on time with his prep step, he works behind the ball, and makes accurate throws. He has good footwork when fielding and attacks slow rollers. At the plate, Nate starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has good hip action to the ball and looks to hit the ball to all fields. On the bump, Nate separates on time, he rides his back hip toward his target, and follows throw in his delivery. He has some movement on his fastball, he creates some tilt on his breaking ball, and has some feel for his change up. Nate will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/26/2018 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Nate is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who made adjustments well during his time at the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic. In the field, Nate shows active footwork and fields in an athletic position with soft hands. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Nate can improve defensively by increasing his lateral range. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a short stride. He shows a smooth rhythm and hits from a strong front side. He tracks the ball well and produces consistent contact. Nate can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing to the ball. On the mound, Nate keep his eyes on target and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and keeps all of his pitches around the zone. Nate shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits at 52mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits at 61mph with sinking action. Nate can improve as a pitcher by gathering to a balance point over the rubber. With four more years to develop, Nate has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/02/2018 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Nate continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/03/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Sacramento, CA Nate is a (2022 grad) as a 3B/RHP. Defensively at 3B, he takes a prep step and works into a low fielding position on GB's. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this RHP gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He works downhill as he delivers with loose arm action and stays directional towards home plate. As a hitter, Nate sets up square with patience. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

09/03/2017 - National Tryout - San Francisco, CA Nate continues to improve his game at 3B/RHP. Defensively at 3B, he displays active prep with quick lateral footwork. He fields GB's athletically with soft hands and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, he delivers a 3-pitch mix from a 3/4 arm slot. He pivots off his back foot and has a strong frontside as he commands his FB for strikes. Using more lower 1/2 and gaining arm strength (long toss program) will help develop Nate into a dominant pitcher at the next level. On offense, Nate gets back into a smooth load. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Swinging on a more level path while working to engage his lower 1/2 will result in driving the ball more on a line with pop. This 2022 grad has a solid skill-set with upside and continues to work hard to develop his skills.

02/21/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Nate continues to work hard on his skills. At 3B - he shows active footwork and hustles into a square fielding position. He gathers well and plays through the ball, working in-line toward his target. Offensively, he has a good setup with a solid base. He hits the ball where it's pitched with the ability to go the other way. He finishes through the ball creating good extension. Swinging on a more direct path with increased bat speed will result in increased power. Nate (2022 grad) has tools with still a ton of time to develop.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Nate is a young two way player at 3B and RHP. On the mound, he mixes a FB and CB and shows good command with the FB. He worked ahead in counts and showed some success getting hitters into pitcher friendly counts. He has a strong front side and should improve as he matures naturally along with a long toss program. Defensively, Nate is a sure handed third baseman who sets up well, attacks the ball and uses proper footwork to build good momentum toward his targets. At the plate, Nate has a direct path to the ball and finds the barrel consistently. At the event, he found his approach and put the barrel through the ball frequently. With plenty of time to develop and mature Nate should improve nicely in the next few years.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
