Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Nate is a talented 2020 RHP prospect. On the bump, Nate has a clean arm action, extends through his release point, and has a good stride length. He has a strong front side and makes adjustments on the mound. Continuing to stay balanced over the rubber and separating on time will allow him to have consistent tempo in his delivery. Working on his slide step and varying his looks will also allow him to control the running game more consistently. Nate will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/04/2018 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Nate is a tall, athletic RHP who will graduate in 2020. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point. Fastball showed a range of 79-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Nate has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
